In March 2020, DGL Warehousing commenced with the demolition works on the ex-independent Fisheries site. The $600,000 project was temporarily halted due to the NZ Government’s lockdown; however, the works are back in full swing now.
Approximately 6,000 sqm of buildings (the ex-Meal Plant and Processing areas) are being demolished to allow additional hardstand areas, which also provide a platform for future redevelopment on the site. The balance of the site largely consists of cold storage facilities, which are operated by Lineage Logistics.
Demolition works are expected to be completed by the end of July 2020.
